The installer had said I could cancel at any time. Turns out I signed a 3 yr contract without knowing it. I have an Impassa allarm installed by an ADT 3rd party and monitored by ADT. Any suggestions for further troubleshooting or any ideas as to what in the world is going on with my panel? I discarded the battery and will get another one tomorrow. Also.when I removed the battery, it had a small bulge on the side about the size of a fingertip. I checked the AC terminals with my meter and it just dances around. Then it beeped and displayed the make and model, then showed a complete blacked out display, then lost power.
The fire led started flashing extremely fast. I was going to perform more troubleshooting, but then the keypad went completely blank.no power. I could arm/disarm the keypad, some of the wireless contacts worked. I disconnected the battery and the “Power” problem on the display cleared up. When I connected both back up, the display showed a “Power” problem. I cut Power and disconnected the battery. It was doing some really crazy things! So I decided to power cycle it to see if it would clear up. I checked the windows which are covered by wireless contacts, did show up on the keypad. When I opened or closed the doors, the keypad readout did not change.
Upon troubleshooting, none of the wired doors on that zone made the system respond at all. I entered our disarm code and the system did disarm. The keypad (NX-148E-RF) did show that the alarm was armed. When I opened the door, the keypad did not sound off its countdown like it should.
